ABOUT
SRI /ʃriː/ (Sh-ree) an honorific in Sanskrit that denotes respect.
SELVA /ˈsel.və/ (sel·va) means jungle in Spanish, derived from Latin “silva” for woods or forest. For me, it connotes dynamism, diversity, density, light, dark and the wonderful effulgence and breadth of life.
The woods are often referenced in poetry, folklore, depth psychology as representations of the sub/un/or yet to be conscious. They are places that can be both rich and scary; tangled, but with paths to clarity.
I’ve also had some powerful moments in the jungle, complete with visions, insights, and bursts of intuition. So, for me it is also an invitation and an homage to an attitude or stance that acknowledges interdependence, participation, strength, adaptability, and a healthy-dose of individual agency, within the rich context of our internal and external landscapes that are in a constant dialogue of mutual exchange and influence.
